A World of Cities, Castes, and Home Stones

The world of Gor Ultima is not built around a single kingdom or one great capital. It is a world of independent cities, proud settlements, isolated villages, distant ports, and communities separated by wilderness, mountains, seas, and old rivalries.

For many Goreans, identity begins with the Home Stone. A city is more than walls and buildings. It is a place of loyalty, caste, family, trade, politics, friendship, and conflict. To belong to a city is to have a place in the world, while those who travel beyond its gates may find opportunity, danger, or enemies waiting along the road.

Some cities are powerful and widely known. Others are distant, secretive, young, or shaped by the harsh land around them. Ports live by the sea. Mountain towns endure the cold. Villages survive far from the protection of great walls. Each settlement offers another place to explore and another chapter in the larger world.

There is no single path through Gor.

You may swear loyalty to a city, serve your caste, pursue trade, seek political influence, travel as a merchant or adventurer, or simply take to the roads and discover where fate leads you.

THE GREAT CITIES OF GOR

Names known across the roads, rivers, plains, and seas of Gor.

Ar One of the great names of Gor. A city whose very name carries the weight of power, ambition, politics, and the pride of those who call it home.	Ko-ro-ba A proud Gorean city with its own people, loyalties, and place in the greater world. Travelers may find opportunity here, but every city remembers where a stranger comes from.
Port Kar A city whose identity is tied to the sea. Ships, trade, sailors, danger, and opportunity all find their way through a great port.	Tharna A city with a name known beyond its own walls. Those who travel there enter a place shaped by its own history, customs, and people.
Turia A destination for travelers crossing the wider lands of Gor. Wealth, trade, caste, and local pride help define the life found within its reach.	Schendi A distant city that reminds travelers just how large the world truly is. The roads of Gor do not all lead through familiar country.
Tyros A city tied to the broader movement of people, ships, trade, and rival powers. Those who travel far enough may eventually hear its name.	Cost A settled city surrounded by a wider world of farmland, roads, and travelers. Like every city, its strength comes from those who live and work beneath its banner.

CITIES BEYOND THE GREAT ROADS

The wider world of Gor Ultima contains many cities with histories of their own.

Lodoria A large and established city that stands as one of the notable centers of the wider shard world.	Elidor A city waiting beyond the familiar roads, offering another destination for those who choose to explore.	Kuldara A city set apart from the ordinary world, carrying its own atmosphere, dangers, and mysteries.
Victoria A settled city within the greater world, ready to become part of a traveler's personal history.	Lunar City of Dawn A lunar city far removed from ordinary streets and familiar horizons.	Midkemia A distant city found in another region of the greater world, beyond the lands most travelers first know.

TOWNS, VILLAGES, AND PORTS

Not every life is lived behind the walls of a great city.

Beyond the major cities are smaller communities, fishing villages, mountain towns, isolated settlements, and ports where travelers can rest before returning to the road. These places may be smaller, but they often possess a character all their own.

Will you become a merchant traveling between distant markets, a sailor moving from port to port, a warrior defending the interests of his city, or a traveler who refuses to remain beneath any one banner?

The roads between settlements are just as important as the destinations themselves. Friendships may begin in one city and end in another. Trade can create alliances. Rivalries can become wars. A stranger may arrive with nothing and, through reputation and action, eventually become a name known throughout the world.
