Achievement Points
|
Fight, gather, craft, explore, develop skills, complete fusions, work the water, and perform other actions recognized by the Achievement System.
|
Meet the required counter, milestone, discovery, or special condition and permanently complete the achievement.
|
The completed achievement contributes its assigned point value to the character's total Achievement Points.
|
Consider an achievement that requires defeating 50 creatures.
49 / 50
The character has made considerable progress, but the achievement is still incomplete.
The assigned Achievement Points have not yet been earned.
After defeating the final qualifying creature:
50 / 50
The achievement completes.
Its point value now becomes part of the character's total Achievement Points.
Achievement Point values can vary from one achievement to another.
A first milestone may be worth less than a long-term mastery achievement.
A common accomplishment may carry a different value from something that requires extensive exploration, rare conditions, unusual skill, or prolonged dedication.
The point value allows the Achievement System to distinguish between different levels of accomplishment while still recognizing all completed achievements as part of the character's history.
Every achievement matters, but not every achievement must be worth the same number of points.
|
First victories, first discoveries, first successful fusions, and other introductory accomplishments can begin building a character's Achievement Point total.
|
Achievements requiring large numbers of kills, resources, crafted items, discoveries, or repeated system activity represent greater long-term dedication.
|
The greatest milestones can recognize exceptional skill, exploration, persistence, or mastery of a particular part of the world.
|
A character's total Achievement Points are built from the point values of completed achievements.
For example, a character may have completed achievements across several categories:
• Combat achievements
• Dungeon discoveries
• Gathering milestones
• Crafting accomplishments
• Grandmaster skill achievements
• Pet Fusion achievements
• Maritime achievements
• Special feats
Each completed achievement contributes its own value.
Together, those values form the character's total Achievement Points.
The total is not limited to one style of play. A character can build Achievement Points through many different parts of Gor Ultima.
Achievement Points provide a broad measure of completed accomplishments.
A character with achievements in many different categories may build points through:
• battle
• exploration
• crafting
• gathering
• skill development
• wealth
• companion systems
• maritime activity
• unusual feats
Another character may concentrate heavily upon a smaller number of categories and pursue their most difficult achievements.
Both approaches can contribute to the Achievement Point total.
|
May earn many points through dangerous enemies, PvP victories, and difficult combat feats.
|
May build a large total through gathering, smithing, tailoring, cooking, alchemy, woodworking, and other crafts.
|
May earn points by discovering dungeons, hidden places, rare locations, and completing long-term exploration goals.
|
|
May gain points by mastering Pet Fusion, experimenting with affinity, using special paths, and surviving unusual fusion events.
|
May build points through nets, salvage, contracts, rare hauls, Sea Legs, and mastery of maritime life.
|
A character may have many achievements in progress at the same time.
For example:
Dragonbane: 47 / 50
Dungeon Explorer: 9 / 10
Fusion Adept: 8 / 10
Working the Water: still progressing
These goals show considerable progress, but they remain unfinished.
When each achievement reaches its final requirement, it completes and its assigned point value is added to the character's completed Achievement Point total.
Nearly completed achievements show what you are working toward. Achievement Points show what you have already accomplished.
Some activities have several achievements representing greater levels of accomplishment.
For example, Pet Fusion may begin with:
First Binding
Continue further and complete:
Fusion Adept
Continue still further and eventually complete:
Fusion Master
Each is a separate achievement.
Each can have its own Achievement Point value.
Completing the later achievement does not erase the earlier accomplishment or replace its contribution to the character's history.
The same principle applies to other progression chains, including exploration, combat, crafting, maritime activity, and other long-term goals.
|
Every completed achievement contributes its assigned Achievement Point value. The points become part of the character's accumulated achievement total. |
Some achievements can also provide additional rewards appropriate to the accomplishment. These may include gold, supplies, resources, equipment, consumables, or other achievement-specific items. |
Completed achievements remain part of the character's saved accomplishment record.
Because the Achievement Point total is built from completed achievements, the total grows alongside that history.
A character may later:
• change classes
• begin a new profession
• leave combat for crafting
• move from land to maritime activity
• pursue Grandmaster skills
• explore systems never previously attempted
The achievements already earned remain part of the character's accomplishment history, and their point values continue contributing to the total.

The Achievement Journal allows you to review:
• achievement categories
• available achievements
• current progress
• completed achievements
• total Achievement Points
The total provides a broad overview of accomplishment.
The completed achievements themselves provide the story behind that number.
A new character begins with few completed achievements.
The character earns a first combat achievement.
Its points are added to the total.
Later, the character discovers enough dungeons to complete an exploration achievement.
Those points are added.
The character eventually reaches Grandmaster in a skill.
Another achievement is completed and more points are added.
Later still, the character begins working with Pet Fusion and completes several fusion achievements.
The total continues growing.
After years of play, the Achievement Point total becomes the combined result of many different moments, milestones, and accomplishments.
Two characters may eventually have similar Achievement Point totals while having completely different histories.
One may have earned most of those points through combat and PvP.
Another may have spent years crafting and gathering.
A third may have explored nearly every dungeon.
Another may have mastered skills, Pet Fusion, maritime activity, and unusual feats.
Achievement Points measure the accumulated accomplishments. The completed achievement list reveals the life that created them.
