Prestige Levels
Prestige Levels are the continued progression of a class after it has already reached Class Mastery.
A class becomes mastered at Class Level 100.
Reaching Level 100 completes the primary mastery requirement. The class is recognized as a completed path, receives permanent mastery credit, and can contribute toward systems such as Jack of All Trades.
The class does not have to stop growing there.
Any continued class progression beyond Level 100 becomes Prestige Growth.
Prestige is not required to complete a class. It exists for players who enjoy a particular class enough to continue developing it after mastery has already been earned.
|
Reached at Class Level 100. Mastery represents completion of the primary class path. At this point, the class becomes a permanently completed mastery and can contribute toward larger systems built around class completion. |
Begins after Class Level 100. Prestige represents continued dedication to a class that has already been mastered. It allows players to keep developing a favorite class without making post-100 progression mandatory for everyone. |
A player does not need to continue leveling beyond 100 to complete the class.
The mastery has already been earned.
Prestige is optional continued growth for players who choose to remain dedicated to that class.
The Custom Class System supports different kinds of long-term players.
Some characters may choose to reach Level 100, earn mastery, and then begin developing another class.
Others may find a class they truly enjoy and wish to remain with it.
Prestige allows both approaches to remain meaningful.
Mastery rewards completion. Prestige rewards dedication.
A player who wants to pursue Jack of All Trades can move on after reaching Level 100.
A player who loves a particular class can continue progressing beyond Level 100 without that additional progression becoming mandatory for everyone else.
|
Prestige can continue supporting gradual statistical development after the primary class progression has already been completed.
|
Post-mastery levels can provide smaller improvements to existing class scaling rather than repeating the larger progression of the first 100 levels.
|
Prestige provides room for future bonuses that reward exceptional dedication to a particular class.
|
|
New systems can recognize prestige levels for advanced progression without changing the basic requirement for class mastery.
|
High prestige can represent exceptional loyalty to a favorite class and distinguish long-term specialists from characters who stopped at the mastery milestone.
|
Prestige is designed to provide additional progression without moving the mastery finish line.
A player who reaches Level 100 has completed the primary class journey.
That player may then choose to:
• continue progressing the class through Prestige Levels
• begin developing another class
• work toward Jack of All Trades
• return to the mastered class later
• divide time between class progression and other shard systems
A Level 100 class is not an unfinished class simply because another player has reached a higher prestige level.
|
The player may move on and begin developing another class. The completed mastery remains part of the character's Mastered Class Record and contributes toward Jack of All Trades. This path rewards breadth and the mastery of many disciplines. |
The player may remain with the mastered class and continue progressing beyond Level 100. This path rewards specialization, continued dedication, and deeper investment in a favored class. |
|
Master many different classes. Build a large collection of completed paths. Develop a character whose history spans combat, magic, support, crafting, companions, and other disciplines. This is the path toward Jack of All Trades. |
Continue developing a class after mastery. Build additional prestige and remain dedicated to a favored identity. This is the path of the long-term class specialist. |
A class does not need prestige levels to count toward Jack of All Trades.
The important milestone is Class Mastery at Level 100.
Once the class is mastered:
• the mastery becomes part of the character's completed progression history
• the class contributes toward Jack of All Trades
• eligible Class Bonus Systems can become available through Jack according to their access rules
Prestige levels can then support smaller statistical or scaling improvements without changing the fact that the class was already fully mastered at Level 100.
Two characters both reach Knight Level 100.
Both characters have now mastered Knight.
The first character decides to begin developing Mage.
Knight remains permanently mastered and contributes toward the character's broader Jack of All Trades progression.
The second character loves the Knight class and continues progressing beyond Level 100.
That character begins earning Prestige Levels and continues developing as a dedicated Knight specialist.
Both characters mastered Knight.
Neither choice invalidates the other.
One chose breadth. The other chose specialization.

|
Level 101+
Prestige
The mastered class continues progressing through optional post-mastery growth.
|
Prestige provides a foundation for continued class development without changing the established mastery rules.
Future class systems may use prestige for:
• additional class-specific scaling
• advanced progression milestones
• specialized rewards
• new class interactions
• recognition of exceptional dedication
• additional hooks into other shard systems
This allows the Custom Class System to continue growing while keeping the core rule simple and stable:
Level 100 is mastery. Prestige comes afterward.
